CANADA REQUIRES BRAKES
ON TRAILERS

NOTICE: If you are traveling to Canada towing your bike on a trailer, or towing any type trailer for that matter, you may want to check their local laws. ALMOST ALL OF CANADA NOW REQUIRES ALL TYPES OF TRAILERS TO HAVE THEIR OWN BRAKING SYSTEM. There are dozens of local laws aimed at those who pull a trailer behind their car or truck. Every province has a different set of laws you must follow. I was going to try and list them all by province, but there are hundreds of different rules depending which provence you are going to be in. I do know that if a provence requires brakes on your trailer and you don't have them, you are in deep trouble. You will be forced to leave your trailer beside the road, have it towed to a shop and have a brake system installed. You will not be allowed to move your trailer until this done and inspected. You don't even want to guess how much this will cost you in american dollars. SO DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, IF YOU ARE ENTERING CANADA, CHECK THEIR LAWS BEFORE YOU HEAD OUT IT COULD JUST SAVE YOU A COUPLE OF THOUSAND DOLLARS AND SAVE YOUR TRIP TOO.
