Not All Motorcycle Trailers Are Equal

As you can see by the picture's of the single and double rail motorcycle trailers above, all motorcycle trailers are not made equal. When I designed these bike trailers, they were built to last a lifetime. The entire frame is welded 3½ inch mill channel steel for strength. All welds are full length, no spot welds. There are five cross members rather than just four like most other motorcycle trailers. No part of the frame is made out of angle iron, only the 3 ½ inch channel steel. The decks are ¾ inch pressure treated plywood, painted on both sides with three coats of an aluminum based paint. Not ½ inch plywood like other trailers. They have a walk around deck area of six by eight feet for two rail units and four by eight feet for single rail units. I don't use "expanded" metal on my decks. This is the type metal that you see used for the cooking grates on some BBQ grills. Which will allow water and road dirt to come up and hit the bike from the bottom of the trailer. Also after a period of time, they tend to rust out and can become dangerous to walk on. I don't like or use metal decks as they get very slippery when they get wet which can cause an accident while loading or unloading. My motorcycle trailers use a ramp for loading rather than a drop gate like you see on lawn trailers. The reason for this is because drop gates act as a "wind dam" when traveling at highway speeds. You don't want your trailer bouncing from right to left with your $20,000.00 bike on it and this is what happens with a four foot gate sticking up in the back of your trailer. The sometimes when I get lazy, I have a local company build my motorcycle trailer frames for me using my blueprints and specifications. There are several other important features on these trailers, such as, re-enforced tongue, heavy duty springs and axles, 12 to 16 inch ground clearance. All of which will assure you of a safe trip to anywhere you may go. The tires are all load range "C" and are a full six ply not two or four ply like other trailers. I will not ever use any four lug rims either, only five lugs for that extra safety. By the way, all bearings are high speed highway rated with rear grease seals and outside grease caps. All the tie down points are either 3/8 inch eye bolts or 6000 pound rated D-rings welded to the frames. The eye bolts go through the deck and into a nut welded to the under side of the frame. No chance of them breaking loose this way. I could go on for ever boasting about all the features built into these trailers but I just don't want to bore you to death with a lot of details.

Built by a Biker For Bikers

I have been renting and selling motorcycle trailers in this area since 1985. I have a data base of a thousand satisfied customers who will give these trailers their stamp of approval. The Honda Goldwing riders gave my trailers an outstanding review in their news letter a couple years ago saying they were the most well maintained and best road tracking trailer the man had ever used. The writer was Mr. Smoak who owns a local pawn shop and has been riding for almost 50 years. I do not build lawn trailers or utility trailers, only motorcycle trailers! Since I started this, I have rented to Judges, cops, bike clubs, company presidents, doctors, lawyers and ditch diggers. They all say the same thing, "Great trailer, tracks behind my tow vehicle like it wasn't even there, didn't even give my four cylinder car a problem pulling it, light enough that one person can move it around." Every trailer also has a tongue jack encase you want to move it by yourself. I also will give you a spare tire at no extra charge. This way if by chance you have a flat while driving on some of the great roads in this country, you won't have to delay your trip to find a new tire. When renting a trailer from me I also can provide you with tie down straps (at a small extra cost) and all needed plug adapters at no extra charge. There have been a lot of people that started up a business to rent motorcycle trailers and all have gone by the wayside. They go out and buy a few trailers and think that is all there is to it. They don't think about maintenance, parts, license tags, and a hundred other things that pop up in a business now days. I always have at least eight to ten trailers available for renting and unlike some places, I don't raise my prices just because it is a special event like bike week or something. What you pay in January, you will pay all year long! No more, no less. I don't give discounts to people just because they belong to this group or that group. My rental rates cannot and will not be beat! No matter where you buy or rent a trailer, I will be glad to answer any and all questions you may have about motorcycle trailer renting and motorcycle transport.

REMEMBER----WHEN YOU WANT TO RENT A MOTORCYCLE TRAILER FOR YOUR BIKE, GET ONE FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS TRAILERS. NOT SOMEONE WHO SELLS CARS OR SHOES DURING THE DAY AND RENT'S TRAILERS AS A SIDE LINE TO MAKE A FEW EXTRA BUCKS OFF THE BIKER COMMUNITY!
